GLENRIDDLE RESERVE BOAT RAMP

Public BBQ

Glenriddle Reserve Boat Ramp sits on the Manilla River at the upper limits of Split Rock Dam, offering a spacious free camping area with up to 21 days allowed. The boat ramp makes this a popular fishing spot, particularly during Easter when crowds arrive. Winter sees quieter periods. Bank fishing mostly yields carp, but boat access opens better opportunities. The reserve provides drop toilets, skip bins, fire pits, and non-potable water at the fish scaling bench. Shaded tables and seating areas dot the expansive grounds. Self-contained camping is required since there's no power. The site welcomes pets and accommodates all camping setups from caravans to tents. Wildlife is abundant. Kangaroos, an array of bird species, and friendly Hereford cattle wander through camps. Morning mist blankets the water at sunrise, creating photo opportunities against the surrounding landscape. Barraba sits 20 minutes away for supplies. Mosquitoes can be thick, and flooding occasionally makes areas slippery. The exposed location gets windy, though spots by the water's edge offer better shelter.
